Botox has been used to smooth facial lines for many years. Initially, it was used to stop eyelids from twitching when a clever ophthalmologist realized it was also taking away unsightly wrinkles! Since 2000, it has become the leading minimally-invasive aesthetic procedure with about 2.8 million users!
Botox works by blocking the signal that tells your muscles to contract, so it works on wrinkles that get worse with movement, including the frown lines between the eyebrows. It is administered in very precise areas to achieve the desired outcome, and lasts approximately 3-4 months. There are other similar treatments, such as Dysport, that have been newly FDA approved and work in much the same way.
Much research has been done in the last several years. While it can be administered in doses high enough to give a frozen appearance, we believe that less can be more! As national trainers, we teach doctors that aesthetic medicine is just as much art as it is science, and an artistic eye is just as important as education and experience. We've learned that passion for giving great Botox treatments can't be taught!
